Keurig K475 Review – The Swiss Army Knife of Keurigs

by | Dec 22, 2019

These days, everyone has some version of a single-serve coffee maker. The convenience of not having to brew a giant pot makes it a very attractive option for people on the go, hotels, break rooms, and small families. While there are many brands to choose from, one has risen above the others as the ultimate option, that brand is Keurig.

While having a single-serve coffee maker is sufficient for some, many people also want the option of brewing larger quantities of coffee. Be it for entertaining, larger offices, or you just like to drink a lot of coffee. Keurig’s answer to this need is the Keurig K475.

Keurig K475 Review – What’s in the Box?

The Keurig K475  is a surprisingly compact machine, considering its brewing capabilities. Standing at a mere 13.2 inches when closed, with a width of 10.5 inches, it takes up very little counter space. This is even more surprising when you consider how much coffee this machine can brew.

As a starter pack, manufacturers included six K cup pods. The Keurig K475 also comes with a water filter handle and two filters to help you brew the desired strength of coffee.

Keurig 475 Features – What Makes it Stand Out

Aesthetically, the K475 is an easy fit in all types of rooms. The sleek, compact design and combination of black and silver make it a must for any modern kitchen or office. Even with its small size, it still packs a coffee-making punch.

The Keurig 2.0 K475 houses a 70-ounce reservoir, which allows you to brew over 8 cups before needing to refill. This gives it one of the largest water capacities of its kind. It can also brew carafe sizes of 22, 26 or 30 ounces. This has become a recent feature among Keurigs that can be seen on other Keurigs such as the K250. (Carafe sold separately)

Of course, in today’s society, everything has a touch screen, and the Keurig K475 is no different. The Keurig K475 has been equipped with an extra-large touch screen that comes with colors that correspond to the brewing size and strength.

To add to its ability as an automated barista, the Keurig K475 is also equipped with a brew strength controller. This allows you to select not only how strong you want your coffee, but also how hot. You can choose from 5 different temperatures with the K475’s built-in selector.

Want a fresh cup of coffee ready before you wake up? The Keurig K475 also includes auto on/off settings that you can easily program. This feature also helps the K475 to conserve energy, which helps both the environment and your power bill.

What the People Are Saying

Looking at the customer feedback, it is clear that people love this Keurig model.  Naturally, users loved the design and modern touchscreen, as well as the ease of use. There were also a few specific items that people loved about the K475

One of the biggest things that people love about the Keurig K475 is the brewing strength settings. For those who love a stronger flavor of coffee, being able to customize the brewing strength raised the K475 above other coffee makers.

Another feature that people love is how quiet the K475 is. According to users, the Keurig K475 is much quieter during brewing than other coffee makers.

Alternatives to the Keurig K475

While the Keurig K475 is an excellent coffee maker. It may not be exactly what you’re looking for. So, to help make a better comparison, I will briefly talk about three similar Keurigs that may better fit your needs.

Keurig K475 vs K575

Similar to the K475, the Keurig K575  has an even bigger reservoir of 80 ounces. It also has similar brewing capabilities in both single-serve and carafe. The K575 also includes a night light setting for its touchscreen with a customizable color setting. Comparatively, the K575 is the best alternative to the K475 within a similar price range.

While it is a good coffee maker, it is important to note that the K575 is a previous model of another Keurig, and will most likely be discontinued in the near future. It also does not come with the starter pack of K-cups.

Keurig K450 vs K475

The Keurig K450  was the predecessor to the K475 and included many of the same features as the K475. The key difference between the two is that the K450 did not come with the two different filters. Also, there were some minor bugs, that were improved in the K475.

Currently, this model is only available from small retailers or secondhand. Also, the warranty will most likely not be available since the model is discontinued.

This model is no longer available from the main sellers. The Keurig K425  was a larger and bulkier model. While it included many of the same features, the K425 is outdated and newer models, such as the Keurig® K475 coffee maker, are a much better option.

Like the K450, you probably will not be able to find it for a decent price, and the warranty may not be included since the model is discontinued.
