The K575 vs. K550: What Are The Similarities?

Both Keurig models; the K575 and the K550 are high-end Coffee Machines. They are both relatively similar and picking up either model; you’ll have a high-quality machine on your hands.

Dimensions and Weight

The K575 is slightly more compact than the K550 and has slightly smaller dimensions, and the K575 weighs slightly less than the K550. The K575 is 10.43 x 13.63 x 13.45 inches, while the K550 is 18.3 x 12.7 x 16 inches. The K575 weighs 11.8 pounds while the K550 weighs 14.3 pounds.

The Display Screen

The display screen is a stand out feature on both machines. Both are easy to navigate, and you can program both machines to your personal preferences. Both machines have an auto ‘on/off’ feature, so Keurig has done well at making both machines energy efficient.

Both Keurigs have strength control options, so you can choose the strength of your beverage to suit your tastes. On both machines, you can choose to illuminate the water tank with different colors, which are a nice feature for both machines.

Water Capacity

Both the K575 and the K550 have the 80 oz Water Tank attached to them. This works well meaning you don’t have to continually refill the tank whenever you make a fresh cup of coffee. Both machines allow you to brew up to 10 or more cups before needing to refill the tank.

Keurig K550 vs. K575: What Are The Differences?

There aren’t too many major differences between the K575 and the K550 and they can be summarised fairly briefly.

With the Keurig K575 Plus being a slightly newer Keurig model than the K550 the water filter comes built into the K575, whereas with the K550 the water filter is included but comes as a separate piece of equipment and it is optional, whether you attach it or not. It’s excellent that Keurig includes the water filter with both models as it’s important for the buyer to be able to enjoy the benefits of filtered water should they want to.

The Accessories

The most significant difference between the two machines lies. The K550 comes with Keurigs signature K-Carafe pitcher. The pitcher isn’t included with the Keurig 575, but the K575 does have additional benefits for the user, including other temperature settings that the K550 doesn’t have. The K575 also offers better options for cup sizes accommodating 12 ounce K-Cups whereas the K550 doesn’t.

The Final Word

Our Winner: Keurig K575 (4.5/5)

While the K575 and the K550 are both high-quality machines, the K575 just about shades it. The buyer should determine what their own needs are and the differences between the two machines are nominal. The fact that the K575 comes with a water filter built-in as standard and not separately is the stand out feature as to why the K575 edges as the winner.

That being said if you are looking to brew large amounts of coffee then the K550 may be the machine to go for, but you can use the carafe with the K575, you’ll have to buy it separately.

The K575 is also the newer model of the two meaning that it should be slightly more reliable and efficient than the K550 because of this. Hopefully, this helps settle the K575 vs. K550 debate and whichever machine you decide to go for you’ll be getting a high-quality machine from a popular brand such as Keurig.
